Colombo BV takes over Bacto Plus®.

Colombo BV, manufacturer of water treatments and medication for pond and aquarium fish acquires the Dutch based company Bacto Plus per January 1st 2009.

Bacto Plus is specialised in bacterial products for aquarium and ponds. In 2008 the Dutch certification and testing institute KIWA has done a comprehensive test commissioned by the Dutch Koi Society on many bacterial products on the market. The test revealed that the Bacto Plus products were the best among the products tested.

With the acquisition Colombo will further extend her activities and turn-over, the production of the Bacto Plus products will be included in the current production facilities of Colombo in Ooltgensplaat – The Netherlands.

The Bacto Plus products will be continued marketed under the Bacto Plus brand and the Colombo bacterial products will contain the Bacto Plus bacteria from 2009.

In 2009 new lactic acid bacteria which will help to prevent disease will be introduced under the Bacto Plus brand.

Aquadistri BV distributes the Bacto Plus® products in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom for other territories Colombo is looking for distributors.
