Cargill has acquired the American company Pro Pet.With this acquisition Cargill becomes the only national supplier of pet food and animal feed in agricultural retailing. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Pro Pet employs over 150 people and runs three production plants for pet food in Owatonna, St. Marys and Kansas City. The company will give Cargill greater production capacity and proximity to existing agricultural retail customers to meet their growth requirements in respect of pet food better.
Cargill currently operates 50 pet food production and distribution facilities in the USA.
