Versele Laga is an international manufacturer of a broad range of food and care products for pets.
On 31 December 2015, the Belgian enterprise Versele Laga acquired the American company Goldenfeast from Phoenixville. Goldenfeast is a manufacturer specialising in a range of premium gourmet superfood mixtures, mainly for exotic birds. This transaction gives each party a unique opportunity to realise its own commercial objectives.
By this acquisition Versele Laga gains a better foothold in the USA to increase the distribution of its own products by mobilising the Goldenfeast dealers' network. The takeover enables Goldenfeast to widen its international radius and accelerate its product differentiation. The founder of Goldenfeast, Edward J. Schmitt, will remain on the board for some time after the acquisition, to offer his long-standing know-how and contribute to the success of the upcoming development.
