Petland, Inc. names new President

Petland, Inc. announced the appointment of Joseph J. Watson to the position of president and chief executive officer. Mr Watson will report directly to the chairman of the board.

"Joe has been an integral member of our executive management team and has provided solid leadership for the company," said Ed Kunzelman, chairman of the board. "Petland is the world leader in retail pet store franchising and we are proud to have Joe leading our organization."

Watson will provide strategic leadership for Petland, aprivately-held company, and oversee day-to-day operations of the global pet retail company. He most recently served as the company's chief operating officer and prior to that appointment, Watson was the company's vice president of operations. Watson has been with Petland for six years. He previously served as vice president for Horizon PCS, a Sprint PCS affiliate.
