Arken Zoo targets expansion

Sweden's leading pet supplies chain has announced several new store openings, including the first two stores in neighbouring Norway. One of Sweden's biggest pet stores, SEA in Stockholm, is now part of Arken Zoo and a 400 m² store has opened in Norrköping, the third store in the city. Other new stores are in Kristianstad (550 m²), Alvik (1.000 m²), Eskilstuna (800 m²), Lidköping (650 m²) and Skåne (500 m²). Arken Zoo has also ventured across the border with the opening of its first two stores in Norway, in Arendal und Kristiansand. Lars Bergkvist, CEO of Arken Zoo, told PET global that he anticipates opening 70 to 80 outlets in Norway in the next three to five years. Geir-Arne Bechmann has been appointed as country manager for Norway.
