Dehner cooperating with Coop

The German garden centre operator Dehner and the Swiss DIY chain Coop Bau + Hobby are set to cooperate. The aim as far as Coop is concerned is to improve its flower and plant range and product quality considerably, according to a press release. Dehner will also offer specialist support to Coop with regard to the procurement and sale of flowers and plants. The cooperative partners are also planning a new garden centre concept, which will be integrated into existing Coop DIY stores. Two pilot stores are being designed and will open in spring 2011.

Dehner, a Bavarian family firm, is by far the largest garden centre chain in Germany and operates 106 stores.
