PetSmart sales grow in third quarter

PetSmart posted a $38.1 million (EUR 25.3 million) net profit for the third quarter ended 1 November, compared with $35.8 million (EUR 23.7 million) a year earlier. Net sales for the third quarter of 2009 rose 3.5% to $29 billion (EUR 19 billion), compared to the third quarter 2008. Comparable store sales - or sales at stores open at least a year - rose 0.3%. Pet services sales stood at $136.7 million (EUR 90.7 million).
